Relative Pollen Productivity Estimates for Major Plant Taxa in Middle Subtropical China

چکیده
Relative pollen productivity (RPP) is a key parameter for quantitative reconstruction of past vegetation cover. However, RPP estimates are rarely obtained in the subtropical and tropical regions. In this study, extended R-value (ERV) model was used to estimate major plant taxa evergreen broadleaved mixed forests middle China based on soil samples data from 23 sites. The best result with combinations ERV sub-model 3 Prentice’s or 1/d distance-weighting method. relevant source area (RSAP) estimated be ca. 500 m. basis seven ranking as follows: Castanopsis (1 ± 0), Ilex (0.352 0.031), Mallotus (0.221 0.028), Liquidambar (0.115 0.007), Cyclobalanopsis (0.107 0.006), Camelia (0.033 0.001), Symplocos (0.010 0.002). Pollen productivity estimates and relevant source area of pollen for selected plant taxa in a pasture woodland landscape of the Jura Mountains (Switzerland)
Relevant source area of pollen (RSAP) and pollen productivity for 11 key taxa characteristic of the pasture woodland landscape of the Jura Mountains, Switzerland, were estimated using pollen assemblages from moss polsters at 20 sites. To obtain robust pollen productivity estimates (PPEs), we used vegetation survey data at a fine spatial-resolution (1 9 1 m) and randomized locations for sampling...
متن کاملThe impacts of climate change and meteorological factors on pollen season indicators of allergenic plant taxa
Pollen respiratory allergies have been increasing in prevalence over the last two decades, partly as the result of the impact of climate change. For many allergenic trees, grass and weed species, increased pollen production and prolonged pollination period result in long-term increased abundance of pollen allergens in the atmosphere; earlier shifts of airborne pollen grains and prolonged exposu...
متن کاملAerobiological study in east-central Iberian Peninsula: pollen diversity and dynamics for major taxa.
A study was made of airborne pollen counts in Cuenca (east-central Iberian Peninsula, Spain), using data obtained over a 3-year period (2008-2010). This is the first such study carried out in the World Heritage city of Cuenca, situated in the large region of Castilla-La Mancha. Air monitoring was performed using the sampling and analysis procedures recommended by the Spanish Aerobiology Network...
متن کاملDominant plant taxa predict plant productivity responses to CO2 enrichment across precipitation and soil gradients
The Earth's atmosphere will continue to be enriched with carbon dioxide (CO2) over the coming century. Carbon dioxide enrichment often reduces leaf transpiration, which in water-limited ecosystems may increase soil water content, change species abundances and increase the productivity of plant communities. The effect of increased soil water on community productivity and community change may be ...
